Founded in Paris in 2022 by Victor Champion Dast and Alexandra Harwood, Atelier Dast challenges leatherwork with an artistic and sensitive approach to craftsmanship. Each piece is created in our workshop near Paris with the aim of perpetuating traditional techniques of saddlery-leathergoods.

Atelier Dast is deeply committed to adopt transparent and sustainable practices, with responsibly sourced materials, in close collaboration with its partners. We collaborate exclusively with the best tanneries and mégisseries based in the South of France, specifically recognized for the quality of their leather, their expertise in tanning and finishing, and for their commitment to sustainable development and traceability.

The name Dast is a tribute to Victor's family: ambitious, self-taught, jack-of-all-trades men and women who, for generations, have passed down a taste for a job well done. Pierre, Victor's grandfather, a fan of beautiful work on wood or metal, gave him a taste for precision and rigor, his mother Virginie passed on to him a taste for drawing and painting and his uncle Xavier, the desire to undertake. It was following the tragic disappearance of his uncle that we wanted to perpetuate this short name, which means a lot to us.
